Five Machado Brothers 2008 Jiu-Jitsu Camp
Five Machado Brothers 2008 Jiu-Jitsu Camp
The five Machado brothers (Carlos, Roger, Rigan, Jean Jacques, and John) will join forces to conduct the 2008 MACHADO JIU-JITSU CAMP providing an opportunity to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu students of all levels to share some time and learn some serious techniques. All Martial Artists – Men and Women, are encouraged to join them in this four day intensive Jiu-Jitsu instructional program designed to help accelerate Jiu-Jitsu skills. The event will take place October 2nd – 5th in a 12,500 sq. feet facility owned and hosted by Mr. Ray Thompson’s Upstate Karate Family Martial Arts Center (please see www.upstatekarate.com) in the beautiful town of Simpsonville, South Carolina.
Emanating from Brazil, the Machado brothers have demonstrated the effectiveness of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in many “no rules” tournaments. They have proven their superiority on the mat, winning numerous Brazilian championships and national and world titles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Russian sambo and even western wrestling. This Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu system is rooted in one-on-one ground fighting, achieving superior positions for joint locks, chokes and strikes.
The RCJ Machado Camp takes Jiu-Jitsu beyond the local studio and into a higher level. All Martial Artists are encouraged to attend this phenomenal 4 day event. “ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTES”
Health and Medical course
More information about Medical:
Medicine is the science and practice of establishing the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.
Medicine encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness.
Contemporary medicine applies biomedical sciences, biomedical research, genetics, and medical technology to diagnose, treat, and prevent injury and disease,
typically through pharmaceuticals or surgery, but also through therapies as diverse as psychotherapy, external splints and traction, medical devices, biologics, and ionizing radiation, amongst others.
Medicine has been around for thousands of years, during most of which it was an art (an area of skill and knowledge) frequently having connections to the religious and
philosophical beliefs of local culture. For example, a medicine man would apply herbs and say prayers for healing, or an ancient philosopher and physician would apply bloodletting according to the theories of humorism.
In recent centuries, since the advent of modern science, most medicine has become a combination of art and science (both basic and applied, under the umbrella of medical science).
While stitching technique for sutures is an art learned through practice, the knowledge of what happens at the cellular and molecular level in the tissues being stitched arises through science.
